π Reminders Feature
Stay on top of your wins with the new Reminders feature! This update introduces a flexible notification system designed to help you build a consistent habit of documenting your achievements.
π Overview
The Reminders feature allows you to schedule notifications at specific intervals. Whether you prefer a quick daily nudge or a monthly reflection, Brag has you covered.
β¨ Key Functionalities
ποΈ Master Control: Receive Reminders
Located at the top of the Reminders settings, this toggle is your primary switch for all notification activity.
- Educational Dialog: When enabled for the first time, an educational dialog explains why reminders are helpful and guides you through the permission process.
- Smart Status: If system-level notifications are disabled, the app provides a direct link to your device settings to fix it.
π Flexible Scheduling Options
You can enable any combination of the following reminder types:
1. Daily Reminders
Perfect for those who want to "brag" every day.
- Custom Time: Set a specific hour and minute for your daily nudge using the intuitive time picker.
2. Weekly Reminders
Ideal for a mid-week check-in or a Friday afternoon wrap-up.
- Day Selection: Choose specific days of the week.
- Custom Time: Set the time for these weekly check-ins.
3. Monthly Reminders
Great for long-term tracking and preparing for performance reviews.
- Monthly Cadence: Set a reminder to fire once a month.
- Custom Time: Choose the best time of day for your monthly reflection.
π οΈ Technical Requirements & Permissions
To ensure reminders are delivered reliably, the app requires specific permissions:
π± Notification Permission (Android 13+)
On Android 13 (API 33) and above, you will be prompted to allow the app to send notifications. This is essential for the reminders to appear in your system tray.
β° Exact Alarm Permission
Reminders use exact alarms to ensure they trigger precisely at the time you've chosen, rather than being delayed by system battery optimizations. The app will guide you to enable "Alarms & Reminders" in system settings if this is required.
Consistency is key! We recommend starting with a Daily reminder at the end of your workday to capture your accomplishments while they are fresh.
